A Date With CARA - Sunday 4th November
Harleys don’t go out in the rain and mine is no exception but this was a date with a difference. With odd spits of rain Jean and I headed to AAMI stadium to act as a reindeer for Santa and CARA, (Community Accommodation and Respite Agency) in initially cold and blustery conditions.
330 plus attended the day and it was full on from 11.00am with the Billy Hyde Drummers, Sonia Madigan introducing 2 of the 36’ers, a Latino Grooves Dance performance, face painting, a roving clown, an excellent lunch and then Santa, no sleigh, just a humble Harley. If you were there to see the kids eyes glue to Santa and run over to hug him, you just know the day would be perfect.
The bad weather stayed away, the kids had a great time, all in all a great day, thanks Liz Fairchild for getting Ulysses behind this very worthwhile cause. For those not aware of CARA, please visit their website to learn more about them, support them when and where you can: http://www.cara.asn.au.
